This lithe Honda CB350 comes from London-based Untitled Motorcycles, and was commissioned as a prop for a film. The brief was to avoid making the bike too obviously customised or show-bike-ish
— which meant keeping the original tank, along with its paint, scratches and dings — via Bike EXIF
Mill Hill is a landmark heritage church, located in Bondi, close to Sydney’s center in Australia.
Baker Kavanagh Architects have converted the church into two luxury apartments, planned around internal courtyards.
The original ironwork and windows have been retained, while new timber floors reference the existing timbers of the church ceiling.
Two contemporary terraces with a contrasting aesthetic were built adjacent to the church, in stark contrast to the heritage features that have been retained inside the church apartments — via HomeDSGN

Manchester Unity Building, originally uploaded by Igor Prahin.
The year was 1932 and, between the two world wars, Melbourne had just built a 13-storey masterpiece in a record 10 months — the art deco Manchester Unity building at the corner of Collins and Swanston streets.
On the evening of Monday, 12 December, with the push of a button by Victorian premier Sir Stanley Argyle, this architectural miracle lit up like a Christmas tree. For the first time,
reported The Argus, the ornamental turreted tower, and the flag surmounting it, leapt out of the dark in dazzling splendour, illuminated by hidden floodlights from all sides.
Well, 80 years later it is all going to happen again. On the eve of the AFL grand final, accompanied by 21st-century fireworks, the Manchester Unity will light up the night sky thanks to a project led by a dentist with a great passion for the building – and the funds to indulge it.
Kia Pajouhesh, son of Iranian migrants, bought the first floor of the MU in 2003 and has spent the past nine years buying and restoring large sections.
The new lighting installation will illuminate the full exterior — and both the inside and outside of the tower — each evening from grand final day onwards — via redwolf.newsvine.com

i’m including them here because i’m impressed that someone would fully commit to not having a beige house. i mean, it takes a lot of moxie to say i want an orange house. and not just an orange house, but a very bright orange house. and while i’m at it i’m going to build a second orange house. so that i shall have two very bright orange houses

The house was built in 1967 in the Gatinais-Orleans region, which is around 81 miles from Paris. It sits in land covering around 3.7 acres of primarily woodland, with metal gates and fencing keeping your land separate from nearby residents. OK, here’s where we get technical.
It was designed according to Le Corbusier’s golden ratio and human scale, known as the modular
, with its polychromy created by Sopick, a contemporary architect from the school of Le Corbusier.
It needs some updating, but a price of €295,000 (£236,000) doesn’t seem outrageous — via WowHaus
Church houses always sound great in theory, but in practice … what are you really going to do with forty rows of pews, or the space left when they are vacated?

Every industry has an outlier, and in the world of motorcycle apparel it’s Icon. The company is unconventional and unpredictable, and I’m sure that part of its success is down to the unusual customs built by creative director Kurt Walter and his crew.
The Slabtown, Northwest Portland garage has recently produced a Ducati streetfighter, a Triumph Speed Triple drift bike and a post-apocalyptic Harley Sportster. And now we have Thunder Chunky, a 1994 Kawasaki Ninja ZX7. With a 748 cc inline four pushing out 120 hp, Thunder Chunky is packing serious horsepower for a mid-90s bike—and can accelerate beyond 160 mph — via Bike EXIF

Clean lines, solid materials and a sense of permanence surround this partly-subterranean house on the Aegean Sea. Large areas are reserved for ramps, decks and pools to engage the beautiful outdoor settings on all sides.
Traditional stone and white stucco tie the building into the place, but the modern cubes and rectangles make this clearly a work of contemporary construction at the same time.
Designed by Deca Architecture, there are comforting accents to the austere structure, too, like a natural-wood canopy and wooden benches with copious cushions in one of the outdoor deck areas — via Dornob

The Whitehouse is a DE Harrington-designed 1930s modernist property in Mill Hill, London NW7. It was originally on the market for £6,750,000, but has now been discounted to £5,950,000. So not exactly affordable, but it is, as ever, nice to dream — via WowHaus
New York based artist and director Jonathan Turner highlights the details of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin D Martin House (1903-05) in Buffalo, New York. Part of a multi-structure estate, the Martin House serves as a prime example of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie House ideal, with strong horizontal lines and planes, deeply overhanging eaves, a central hearth, prominent foundation, and a sheltering, cantilevered roof. Although the complex suffered considerable damage over the decades, the Martine House Restoration Corporation (MHRC) has raised funds for a complete restoration of the complex, which began in 1997 and continues on today — via ArchDaily
The Green Greenberg Green House was commissioned [New Theme] by the photographer Jill Greenberg and her husband Robert Green. The design developed from their program and the contextual considerations of the existing site. The triangular down?slope site opens onto a plateau off the street, sloping sharply towards the south side of the property and offers panoramic views to the Los Angeles basin, thus, the organic shape towards the north contoured site condition, and the rectilinear south side that engages the city grid. Through the analysis of these two factors, the initial massing and orientation was generated to optimize spectacular views and natural ventilation — via ArchDaily
