Following user outrage at its redesign, former lead designer for Google Reader, Kevin Fox, has offered to come back to the company to help Google fix up the Reader product.

Open Mobile Summit John Donahoe, CEO of eBay, has said that the concept of e-commerce is dead and buried, since consumers really don’t care about where they buy, so long as they get the cheapest price.
Speaking at the Open Mobile Summit in San Francisco, Donahoe said that the increasing use of mobile technology had blurred the barrier between e-commerce and regular retail to such an extent that the former term was essentially meaningless. Fans of notorious US hip-hop group Insane Clown Posse have been officially classified as a gang. A new FBI document has categorised the Juggalos as a “loosely-organised hybrid gang,” citing the group’s violence, criminal activity and “gang-like behaviour”.
Fans of the Insane Clown Posse have called themselves Juggalos for more than two decades, developing a reputation for face-paint, Faygo soda, and a scepticism toward magnets. Although based in the United States — the ICP are from Michigan — it has become a worldwide movement; a UK Facebook group has more than 600 members.

Users of Google Map links for their websites will be charged for heavy usage of the service, it has been revealed.
From 1 January 2012, Google will charge for the Google Maps API service when more than the limit of 25,000 map hits
are made in a day.
Websites, especially travel firms, use Google Maps to link customers to a view of the destinations they inquire about.
Google is rumoured to be charging $4 per 1,000 views in excess of the limit.

A Moscow court on Monday denied bail for Pavel Vrublevsky, a Russian businessman who was charged earlier this year with hiring hackers to launch costly online attacks against his rivals. The denial came even after Vrublevsky apparently admitted his role in the attacks, according to Russian news outlets.
Vrublevsky, 32, is probably best known as the co-founder of ChronoPay, a large online payment processor in Russia. He was arrested in June after Russian investigators secured the confession of a man who said he was hired by Vrublevsky to launch a debilitating cyber attack against Assist, a top ChronoPay competitor. The former ChronoPay executive reportedly wanted to sideline rival payment processing firms who were competing for a lucrative contract to process payments for Aeroflot, Russia’s largest airline. Researchers have figured out one way the Stuxnet-like Duqu trojan is infecting computers — via a Word document that exploits a previously unknown Windows kernel bug.
The installer file is a Microsoft Word document that exploits the kernel vulnerability, which allows code to be executed on the infected system, Symantec said in a post on its site. There may be other infection methods used by other Duqu variants that have not been uncovered yet, Kevin Haley, a director with Symantec Security Response, told ZDNet Australia‘s sister site CNET.

Google Reader users who want to continue sharing RSS feed content with others thus need to set up a membership in Google+, the company’s new social networking site.
