How to fight in full 14th century harness / Ola Onsrud

This video is made as an attempt to answer some of the many questions about the use of harness (armour) received after the publication of our video dressing in 14th century armour. This is therefore not a video showing harnischfechten techniques, but a video showing the weakness of a 14th century harness — via Youtube

Philadelphia Navy Yard / Filthy Luker + Group X

This sea monster is an art installation by Luke Egan and Pete Hamilton — aka Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas — UK-based artists who have made an international name for themselves with gigantic inflatable tentacles. They were invited to create this temporary installation — just 45 days — by the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation — via WHYY

World’s first domesticated foxes / Verge Science

Verge Science met the very cute and very bizarre result of an almost 60-year-long experiment: they’re foxes that have been specially bred for their dog-like friendliness toward people. They do a little behaviour research of their own, and discover what scientists continue to learn from the world’s most famous experiment in domestication. The fox experiment continues under the supervision of Lyudmila Trut at the Institute of Cytology and Genetics. Her book How to Tame a Fox (and Build a Dog), co-authored by Lee Alan Dugatkin, details the history and science behind the experiment — via Youtube
