It’s only March, but Imgur member rentdownstairs has already locked up the Father of the Year competition. He wanted to get a custom crib to pass down as an heirloom to our children
. So he commissioned Atlanta-based woodworker Garrick Andus to carve a crib inspired by the horror imagery of HP Lovecraft. Its spreading, writhing, all-consuming tentacles express the hopes that all of us fathers have for their children — via Neatorama

Tony Swatton over the course of several days as he forges and constructs a modern take on a Roman Gladius Sword that features damascus steel. It was a special few days shooting with Tony in his shop as he gears up to move into a new location after 25 years. In this case there’s a 93 layer damascus technique in the blade, twisted in the grip, and in detailed pieces throughout the guard and pommel nut. The finish of the blade maintains a darkness, yet still captures a shine from the light — via Youtube
Polymer clay is wonderful stuff. It’s inexpensive, easy to find, and can be moulded into anything you can dream of. A few years ago Tom Flock started playing with the clay as a way to focus his creative energy away from video games. In this Instructable he’ll be sharing a few of the sculpting and finishing techniques that he’s picked up while sculpting with oven-bake polymer clay — via Instructables
Being the attempt to recreate a one of a kind movie prop using fabric, gumption and couch foam. Can Bart recreate Alex DeLarge’s puffy, dimensional bedding, as seen in A Clockwork Orange?
This amazing prop was only on screen for a minute and 40 seconds, in two scenes. The actual screen-used Clockwork Orange bedspread is said to have degraded in storage, ultimately to be disposed of. Will we be able to recreate it?
And how crazy will the level of effort needed be? — via Youtube

In this video Clickspring goes through the process of bluing a set of steel clock hands. Heat bluing of small steel parts is a key element of traditional clock and watchmaking.
