Edvard Munch’s masterpiece The Scream has sold at auction for $120m (£74m), making it one of the most valuable works of art ever sold.
The 1895 pastel was bought at Sotheby’s in New York City. Bidding began at some $50m, and lasted for just 12 minutes.
The work is one of four in a series by the Norwegian expressionist artist and was the only one still owned privately — via redwolf.newsvine.com
For a new line at work, experimenting with a style similar to some band posters I saw for the Black Keys etc that looked that bits of paper made into a mosaic. These are pretty time consuming but fairly fun — via deviantART

Max Dalton’s pop culture prints have caught our eye on previous occasions so it’s exciting to see some new work from him, this time celebrating the 50th anniversary of James Bond.
The prints were created for a screening of eight of the Bond films in San Francisco but are pretty cool for any fans of 007 — via Retro To Go
Ancient deep sea divers — the nautilus has firmly imprinted itself in the human psyche. This sculpture titled Cephalopod
takes direct inspiration from these amazingly graceful creatures.
This piece marries found object and handmade castings beautifully. It’s body is an old cast iron blower housing; the eyes
are cast bronze (cast from original waxes). The tentacles are forged steel square nails, peeking out from it’s beak
, which are unique cast iron pieces — via Etsy

Another fun experiment with colour and graphic brush strokes. Relative of Blue Crab, Rainbow Pig, and Painted Shark. This time I painted the colours as a solid block, and put the grey over the top. Way easier than painting a bunch of tiny coloured stripes — via CrashOctopus Blog

A collector who bought a batch of paintings in a US garage sale has found what is believed to be a sketch by pop artist Andy Warhol among them.
Businessman Andy Fields, 48, from Tiverton, Devon, paid $5 (£3) for the five paintings in Las Vegas in 2010.
When he decided to reframe one of the paintings he found the sketch hidden behind it.
He has been told by a valuer that the sketch could be worth £1.3m — but says he does not want to sell it — via redwolf.newsvine.com
Four paintings worth $1m (£625,000) stolen from a New York gallery have been recovered in Germany 24 years on.
A total of six contemporary artworks were taken from the Soloman Gallery in 1988, with one turning up in 2003.
But the remainder of works remained hidden until they turned up in the estate of a dead German art dealer.
The dealer’s daughter had attempted to get the paintings authenticated, alerting the Art Loss Register (ALR) to their whereabouts.
The ALR said there was still one painting yet to be found — via redwolf.newsvine.com
