While it’s great and all that transsexual people in UK are now recognised as members of the gender they identify as, how would this change “enable intersex children to live a normal life”? Remember, intersex children are generally not dealing with the problem of gender, but that of secrecy, shame, isolation, and physical/psychological/sexual trauma (see http://www.ipdx.org/articles/hermaphrodites.html ). Intersex children will be able to live a normal life when the society stops treating intersexuality as a “social and medical emergency” as the current medical texts describe it.
