Cray has announced the availability of the world’s highest-capability expansion memory and data transfer system. The new system, compatible with Cray SV1e and Cray SV1ex supercomputers, includes a 224GB Solid State Disk with a data transfer rate of 80GB/sec — 800 or more times faster than the 10 to 100MB/sec speeds typical with today’s disk servers
