Known as non-volatile memory, a high-speed, high-capacity memory technology could eliminate the need to reboot a computer. It could cut the cost of PCs by allowing makers to replace their current random access memory and hard drive with a single component with no moving parts. It has been patented by a team at the University of Houston and licensed by the Sharp corporation
