Dinkeloo Residence / John Dinkeloo + Kevin Roche

This cool modern home in Hamden, Connecticut, was designed in 1970 by John Dinkeloo, a founder of architectural practice Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates LLC with Kevin Roche, both of whom worked closely with Eero Saarinen.

Built as his own personal residence, the 343 square metre house features a boxy steel-and-wood construction over two floors characterised by dark wood-panelled ceilings and walls, oak floors, and walls of sliding glass doors that frame views of the 2.34 hectare woodsy site. Located at 145 Blue Trail, it’s offered at $619,000 — via Curbed
