Norumbega Carriage House / Camden, Maine

Conceived as part of the Norumbega estate built by telegraph innovator Joseph Stearns, the circa-1890 carriage house features an expansive lower level that opens up to a bright, vaulted loft. The five-bedroom, 5,656-square-foot structure was given a thorough update in 2010, during which the owner replaced rotting beams, posts and trusses, and the roof, in addition to adding bedrooms and a recreation area to the loft.

The carriage house, which includes a private beach overlooking Penobscot Bay, is on the market for $3.74M — via Curbed
