The Modern Barn / Richard Meier

The word barn usually conjures up something rural, ancient and generally wood-based. Not so The Modern Barn in Lyme, Connecticut. This place actually dates from 1992.

According to the agent’s details, this place was the inspiration of neo-modernist architect Richard Meier, with the plans drawn up by Beinfield Wagner Architects, winning the latter a design award in the process. Hardly surprising when you see the end product.

If you want to buy the place, $1,100,000 is the asking price — via WowHaus
