Following last year’s launch of its 1858 Chronograph Tachymeter in rose gold, Montblanc will extend the lineup with a steel case / blue dialed combination. The 1858 is named for the founding year of Minerva which was once a stand alone watch manufacture but is today part of the watchmaking operations of Montblanc. The watches do draw upon the Minerva designs of the 1930s including the specially shaped hands and other features which present with somewhat of a vintage look. Another attraction is the manual wind Montblanc Calibre M16.29, a pocket-watch style column-wheel chronograph, with both a large screwed balance and Swan neck regulator along with finely finished curves and points — via Perpétuelle
