Typing in the registration of the last plane I flew on reveals that it probably only works for US and other alphanumeric (such as Russian) registrations. Those made up entirely of letters merely set it wondering what it was you misspelled!

Not at all surprised by this news. But you would expect that in a world of international travel and global googling, there would be a wider pool of base data
