And so it is with this project by Minimal USA, a partial renovation in DUMBO on the waterfront, in the most luxurious residence the area has to offer (valued at 25 million dollars).

The building and tower itself date back to 1915, with the top later converted into a whopping 6500-square-foot loft that looks out in all directions — via Dornob

The Seiko SNN221 has a reliable quartz movement, hardlex crystal, water resistance to 100m, and what looks to be generous lume on the hands. Of course, here, we also have the addition of a simpler chronograph complication.

The subdial at 12 o’clock registers the minutes tracked (up to 60); the other subdial (at 6 o’clock) registers the elapsed seconds. The last remaining feature on the dial would be the date display at 3 o’clock, and it blends in perfectly with the dial. You’ve got a 42mm stainless steel case (12mm thick) paired up with a 22mm bracelet — via Wrist Watch Review

Henri Grevellec’s home was once six adjacent caves inhabited by quarry workers. Now, most of them are connected via tunnels that the resident carved from the stone with his own hands. He has left many of the features just as they were when he acquired the property, such as the 400-year-old doorways. The temperature in the caves is naturally mild year-round due to the insulative property of the rock — via dornob

Never mind the price, it’s out of all of our leagues. But simply marvel at this Paxton Locher-designed futuristic five bedroom house in Hampstead, London NW3.

It is a quite stunning design, said to be the finest of all of Paxton Locher’s projects. Some statement, seeing as a previous build by the architectural team was described as one of the great London houses of the late 20th century. Why so great? Well, it packs a hell of a lot of wow into a fairly restricted space.

A stunning glimpse into the future, but a glimpse that’s available to buy right now… at a price. That price? A jaw-dropping £7,950,000 — via WowHaus

Loveless, jobless and possibly terminally ill, Frank has had enough of the downward spiral of America. With nothing left to lose, Frank takes his gun and decides to off the stupidest, cruelest and most repellent members of society with an unusual accomplice: 16-year-old Roxy, who shares his sense of rage and disenfranchisement. From stand-up comedian and director Bobcat Goldthwait comes a scathing and hilarious attack on all that is sacred in the United States of America

Who wouldn’t want to own a nuclear bomb-proof earth station and a piece of space history?

The Jamesburg Earth Station, which transmitted some of the first images of the Apollo 11 moon landing, is on the market.

The one-of-a-kind securely fenced 160-acre property comes with a three-bedroom house, a 20,000-square-foot building, a helicopter landing pad and a 10-story satellite dish and antenna. It’s in Cachaua Valley, not far from Carmel Valley and about 20 miles southeast of Monterey, a bit off the beaten track and offbeat, period.

The unusual selling point of this picturesque property situated among rolling hills and wine vineyards: Built at the height of the nuclear arms race with the former Soviet Union, the 20,000-square-foot earth station can withstand a five-megaton nuclear blast.

The dish used to transmit satellite communications between the U.S. and other Pacific Rim countries. It was shut down in 2002 by owner AT&T and put up for sale. Some ham radio operators restored and fired up the dish in 2007 and bounced 20 radio signals off the moon — via latimes.com

In March, the Mozambican legislature is expected to pass a bill that would revise the country’s draconian abortion law and legalise voluntary abortions in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. In doing so, Mozambique would become the ninth African country to liberalize its abortion policy in the last decade. Since 2003, 28 countries have ratified an African Union protocol supporting the right to abortion in cases of rape, incest, or high-risk pregnancies. In these incremental changes, there may be signs of a continental shift — via redwolf.newsvine.com

The UK housing market is amazing. In some areas, a budget of just under £600,000 might struggle to get a semi-detached property. But if you move much further north, this 19th century 14-bedroom Craig Gowan mansion in Broughty Ferry, near Dundee could be had instead.

Nip outside and you’ll find a gravelled area for parking, along with extensive gardens. There’s also planning permission for another house in the garden, according to the listing. Talking of planning, the house is also being pitched as a potential three-apartment development, with planning already in place.

Or just keep it as a huge Victorian hangout. Either way, the price is around £590,000 — via WowHaus
