Del Dios Ranch / Fred Briggs + Arthur Elrod

The 210 acre ranch on a private hilltop in Rancho Santa Fe, California features a massive four-bedroom, 8,000-square-foot mansion made out of redwood, marble and glass, with an asking price of $85 million.

Del Dios Ranch was built in 1973; the architect was Fred Briggs; interiors were by Arthur Elrod. It resembles nothing so much as the lair of business tycoon in a modern film noir who turns out to be the mastermind behind a string of seemingly unrelated crimes that were in fact committed by his henchmen in order to consolidate his power and gain a monopoly over some entire industry. Or something like that — via Curbed
